Sailmaker Clarijs is a traditional family business. It was founded by the brothers Clarijs in 1948 and started as a saddlery in 1925. When the demand for leather products declined, Clarijs gradually started to focus more on the manufacturing of sail canvas, tarpaulin, and other related products. Over time, the company was passed on to the sons and later their grandchildren, and in recent years grew to become a manufacturer for bike bags and cargo bike covers.
